Mission & Goals
To cultivate the arts and provide a venue for world class and neighborhood cultural events to nurture the artistic health of the community.
- Provide a functional stage and auditorium to support presentation of live theatrical productions, dance performances, and music events for audiences of 300-500 attendees
- Feature safe and comfortable amenities for audiences and for visiting companies
- Serve as a stable, affordable home for Pittsburgh’s diverse small arts groups, supporting their missions and providing a foundation for their continued growth and development
- Provide professional production support amenities, including modern equipment, knowledgeable technical staff, functional dressing rooms, and flexible production spaces
- Ensure the theater is ADA compliant for patrons, performers and employees with disabilities
- Contribute to the preservation of an historic landmark
- Generate business traffic within the community
- Restore the theater as a productive urban arts destination
- Join the cultural district on the Northside which includes the Children’s Museum, the Andy Warhol Museum, the Carnegie Library, the National Aviary, Artists Image Resource, the Mattress Factory, Manchester Craftsmen’s Guild, and the Carnegie Science Center.
